ALERT!     THE END OF SUCTION DREDGING

Feb 17, 2012

The changes to the new suction dredge regulations have been posted by the DFG. We have posted the final regulations at http://westernminingalliance.org/?page_id=924 . You may also read our Alert Notice on what you can do under HOT TOPICS/ HOT OFF THE PRESS buttons on the header of the main home page.  You can access our response to CDFG under the Resources Tab at the top of the page.  We recommend you copy and paste Appendix A to your letter.

The dredge to the left, put up for the year in 2009 is now classified as a “historic or cultural resource” by the CDFG.

This dredge is nothing more than a relic of mining days in California and likely the claim will be seized and turned into a park for people to see what California used to be like when people had jobs and the freedom to pursue an economic activity of their choice – not the government’s choice.

By the standards and definitions used in the SEIR, any object from the mining days is considered a historic relic owned by the State.  This dredge is owned by the State, controlled by the environmentalists and paid for by you.  Don’t try to recover your property or you will be disturbing historic resources.

Tired of it yet?

We need EVERYONE to stand against these regulations. The new regulations regulate suction dredging to nothing more than a hobby controlled by the environmental extremists.  The environmental groups have achieved what they set out to do – they have killed another industry.  The question is whether YOU will stand by and allow this, or if you will join us in our fight to oppose this over reach of government.

If you want to help right now without going any further into our site, contact us via email at:  [email protected] or you can call us at 530-587-9126. We have a hundred things we can be doing, with a small but growing number of people volunteering to do them. We must be clear.  This is the end of suction dredging in the State of California.  For perspective there are over 24,000 placer claims in the State yet CDFG will issue only 1,500 permits which is a full 2,000 permits under the average issued.  Do you really want to be lined up at midnight on December 31st like teenagers at Best Buy waiting for the store to open?  Is this what we must do to legally operate our claims?  Even if you are lucky enough to get a license there will be 8,000 claim holders without a permit to legally mine their claims.

If you want to donate funds discreetly (we are an LLC and thus your donations are not public) you can send us a check or use the donate button located at the lower right hand corner of this page. If you need to have a tax deductible receipt, then give the money to Public Lands for the People and earmark it to be used for the WMA challenge and they will see to it that the money is directed to the appropriate lawsuit. We ask that everyone consider donating enough money to cover 1 hour of attorney’s fees ($250) or at least 2 dwt of gold. After all, this IS the way a lot of us make extra money or make a living- so what is it worth to you to protect your rights? You can send your check to: Western Mining Alliance, P.O. Box 33218, Reno, NV 89533

Don’t rely on someone else to support or carry this cause.  If you care about suction dredging and your freedom to carry on this historic activity then donate money.  Someone else isn’t going to donate in your place.  We currently have received sufficient donations to file the lawsuit but we must sustain the lawsuit once filed.  For any member of the WMA we will provide a full accounting of the funds received.  Not one of us with the WMA receives any pay.  Like you we all have day jobs we must work to earn money.  And in truth we all have claims under the new regulations that are open for dredging.  Should we allow these regulations to go final?  Or should we fight?  There are over 9,000 claim holders in California alone.  If every claim holder donates an hour of legal time we can not only fight and win this but we can prevent it from ever happening again.

If you cannot afford to donate money, but have some spare time on your hands, that will work too. We have a lot of projects we need to complete in a limited amount of time and not enough people to do them. So here is your opportunity to step up to save the small mining industry from the regulatory dust-bin of history. Stand up now, or we all can sit by and watch our glorious industry be another in the long list of industries crushed by environmental extremism and over-regulation.

Our response will be a lawsuit to protect our rights to mine on your legal Federal Mining Claims or your private property. If you are a private property owner then please consider that a group of people (environmentalists) with no property rights has again determined the best use for your property.  When you, as the owner, are simply the caretaker of your property for someone else’s enjoyment we call that socialism. It’s amazing that by having “no skin in the game” their wishes are transformed into DFG regulations.  Are you prepared to defend your rights to dredge on your private property, your claim or on public lands? If so, we need your support RIGHT NOW to help us restore ALL OF OUR RIGHTS.

Donate Now or help by pitching in and rolling up your sleeves, only through the courts in front of a fair and impartial jury can we restore our rights.  Please, we’re asking that you support an hour of lawyer time.

In closing, we are working closely with Public lands for the People to file so we may have our day in court.  DON’T GIVE UP.  That’s what they want you to do !

We need your support  !!!!!!!!!!!!!       DONATE  NOW  !

MY LETTER TO BUDGET COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND MORE..

I WOULD LIKE YOU TO SHARE MY CONCERNS WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES.. I WOULD ENCOURAGE A NO VOTE ON THE RESOURCES BUDGET TRAILER BILL ,REGARDING MODIFYING THE GOLD SUCTION DREDGING REGULATIONS.. BY JARED HUFFMAN..

THIS HOW I SEE IT.. MR. JARED HUFFMAN..((WHO HAS NEVER DREDGED A DAY IN HIS LIFE))

AGAIN OUR LEGISLATORS FAILED TO READ A BILL THAT THEY RE SO EAGER TO PASS. SB 670 CLOSING ALL THE RIVERS TO SUCTION DREDGING. THIS WILL NOT HELP THE SALMON. ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT FLOW EASTWARD FROM THE EAST SIDE OF THE SIERRAS. NOR WILL IT DO MUCH ON ALL THE WESTERN FLOWING RIVERS THAT ARE DAMNED UP WITHOUT FISH LADDERS. THE KERN RIVER FOR EXAMPLE HAS NO WAY IN HELL FOR A SALMON TO SWIM UP STREAM FROM THE OCEAN. YET WE FUNDED A STUDY (THAT COST 2 MILLION )NO PROOF THAT DREDGING CAUSED DAMAGE) .. THIS BAN HAS CAUSED 60 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR TO OUR CALIFORNIA ECONOMY. TO MY KNOWLEDGE A ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT ON SUCTION GOLD DREDGING WAS COMPLETED BY THE STATE IN 1994.DREDGERS TAKE OUT “MERCURY AND LEAD” FROM THE RIVERS WHICH ARE FAR MORE DETRIMENTAL TO OUR ENVIRONMENT. IF WE HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO WASTE IN OUR BUDGET PERHAPS A SELECT GROUP OF RIVERS THAT HAVE SALMON WOULD BE A BETTER CHOICE.HOW MANY RIVERS ARE OPEN TO SALMON FROM THE OCEAN?HOW DO DAMS HELP THE SALMON?
COAL BURNING POWER PLANTS PUT A LOT MORE MERCURY IN THE AIR THEN MINERS COULD DO..
..THE COHO SALMON ARE ALSO UNDER ATTACK FROM THE JAPANESE AND OTHER COUNTRIES .., THAT USE NETS UP TO 25 MILES LONG TO HARVEST FISH..
ALSO THE GREAT WHITE HAS BEEN KNOWN TO DINE ON THE CO HOE SALMON..
HOW ABOUT SOME COMMON SENSE ??OUR GOVERNMENT NEEDS IT..
WHERE IS THE SCIENTIFIC DATA TO SUPPORT A BAN ON DREDGING ??
DURING SPRING RUN OFF MOTHER NATURE MOVES MORE OF THE RIVER BOTTOM IN 1 HOUR THAN ALL THE MINERS PUT TOGETHER ..BOULDERS BIGGER THAN REFRIGERATORS TUMBLE DOWN THE RIVER..
